3 squares of unsweetened chocolate
2 1/4 C of sifted cake flour
2 tsp of baking soda
1/2 tsp of salt
1 stick = 1/2 C of butter
2 1/2 C firmly packed light brown sugar
3eggs
1 1/2 tsp of vanilla
1 cup sourcream
1 cup of boiling water

Bake@ 350.o for 35 min makes test with tooth picks.

1.melt chocolate in a small bowl over hot water (not boiling)
2.grease and flour 2 9x11 round cake pans. (Tap out excess flour)
3.sift flour baking soda & salt on wax paper or something
4.beat butter until soft in a large bowl add brown sugar & eggs
beat on high speed until fluffy, 5 mins then add beaten butter and cooled chocolate.
5.stir in dry ingredients alternating with the sourcream mixing well with a wooden spoon after each addition of sourcream. Pour into baking pans and enjoy.

There is no frosting receipe with this so make your own or buy some.

The 1st and last time I made this was on dads birthday 1977 I got up early cause I felt some weird pangs I was carry my second baby and due any minute well about an hour into baking those pangs turned into labor and that was when we had our beautiful daughter Erin...p.s we had the cake the next day in hospital sooo good!
