Directions: Where do I begin with Lily Weatherford? For those of you who have listened to Gospel music, she is no stranger. To me, she is a friend....to many others, she is a legend. At 83 years old, Lily has been serving the Lord for 68 years in full time ministry and she truly has walked the walk and talked the talk. I met Lily about 9 years ago when we were in concert with them in California. To be honest, I was quite intimidated and a little nervous about singing with the Weatherfords. The moment I met Lily, my heart was overwhelmed with this sweet spirit. It was as if I had known her forever. We quickly became great friends and we have worked together many times in the past several years. Lily has dedicated her life to full time Christian service. After her husband passed away, she continued to make ministry her hearts desire along with her son, Steve. Now, joining her on her bus is her grandson, Skylar, adding excitement to their 40 foot tour bus! She finds time to do it all and at 83, I find that nothing short of amazing! Her ability to perform on stage each evening, sharing her life story, heart and testimony is reflected off the stage in her very humorous personality. She is a Faithful woman that God has used in a mighty way. It’s easy to fall in love with Lily Weatherford, as I have, along with many other fans in Gospel Music. Lily published a cookbook a few years ago and her talents in the kitchen are just as beautiful as that on stage!
