1 cup sugar,
1/3 cup water,
2 egg whites,
1 baked pie shell,
1 pint strawberries - sliced,
Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar and water until mixture spins a thread - 230-234 candy thermometer
Using electric mixture beat egg whites stiff
Slowly beat in hot sugar mixture and continue to beat until meringue forms soft peaks.
Put half into pie shell
Fill with berries
Frost with rest of meringue
Put in 425º oven until frosting lightly browns- 5 to 8 minutes
