1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 small can evaporated milk
1/2 c.soft bread crumbs
1 egg slightly beaten
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 tsp. prepared mustard
1 c.grated American cheese
1 loaf French bread
strips of cheese
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except French bread and cheese slices. Cut bread in half length-wise, place each half crust down on tin foil larger than the piece of bread.Form the foil into boat shape around each loaf. Spread meat mixture evenly over the bread. Bake in 350º oven for 25 minutes. remove from oven and arrange cheese strips over top and bake 5 minutes more. Cut and serve hot.
