1 stick melted margarine
1 Egg, beaten
1 c. Dates (cut-up)
1/2 c. Sugar
2 c. Rice Krispies
Shredded Coconut (enough to roll the date balls in)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt margarine. Add egg, dates and sugar. Cook about 7 minutes, stirring constantly. Add Rice Krispies and set it aside until it is cool enough to handle. Roll into balls and roll them in the shredded coconut.

Ga-Ga, (Grandma Alma Gladden) used to ALWAYS make these for Christmas time. It was a favorite.
I found this recipe in Ga-ga's handwriting.
