1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
2 large eggs
3-4 mashed ripe bananas
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. dark chocolate cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
12 oz. bag Hershey's dark chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease and flour bottoms of two 8 in. loaf pans or five mini loaf pans. Mix sugar, butter and eggs in a large bowl. Add mashed bananas, buttermilk and vanilla and mix well. Stir in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt until moist. Gently fold in chocolate chips. Do not over-stir. Divide batter evenly into pans. Bake 8 in. loaves for 60 minutes or mini loaves for 45 minutes. Cool for five minutes in pans before moving to a wire rack. Cool completely before serving.
