1/2 cup water
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 teas. grated orange peel
1/2 cup cranberries
1/2 cup light rum
6 Tbls. lemon juice
6 Tbls. cranberry juice
6 Tbls. light rum
6 Tbls. dark rum

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve sugar in water over medium heat with cinnamon stick and orange peel. Bring to a boil. Add the cranberries and cook until they pop. Set aside to cool. Discard cinnamon stick and reserve the cranberries. Add 1/2 cup light rum and refrigerate.

Before serving, add 6 Tbls. each - lemon juice, cranberry juice, light rum and dark rum. Stir and serve over ice with cranberries for garnish if desired.

Margaret Guinney made this for a Christmas gathering and it was such a hit I make it for all our holiday celebrations.
I use the reserved cranberries with pears in a holiday fruit crisp.
