1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. pork sausage
1 qt. tomato juice
2 cans (6 oz. each) tomato paste
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 large onion chopped
1/4 c. green pepper chopped
3 eggs
3 Tbsp. minced parsley
3 c. (24 oz.) cottage cheese
1 carton (8 oz.) ricotta cheese
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
9 slices Provolone cheese
3 c. (12 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)

Directions:
In large skillet, cook meats with onions and peppers; drain. Add tomato juice, tomato paste, garlic, sugar, seasoning, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered for 1 hour; stirring occasionally. In a large bowl, combine eggs and parsley. Stir in the cottage, ricotta, and Parmesan cheeses. Spread 1 cup of sauce in an ungreased 9 x 13 baking dish. Layer with 3 noodles, provolone cheese, 2 cups cottage cheese mixture, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, 3 noodles, 2 cups meat sauce, remaining cottage cheese mixture, 1 cup mozzarella cheese. Top with remaining noodles, meat sauce and mozzarella cheese. (dish will be full). Cover and bake at 375º for 50 minutes. Uncover; bake 20 minutes longer or until heated through. Let stand for 15 minutes before cutting.
