2 cans asparagus, drained or one bunch fresh, steamed asparagus spears
1 large package finely shredded cheese
Medium white sauce:
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp flour
¼ tsp salt
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Butter a baking dish and align the asparagus in the dish. Crumble some butter over the asparagus. In a sauce pan make the medium white sauce by melting the butter, add flour, salt, pepper to taste. Slowly stir in the milk and cook over medium heat. Stir constantly until bubbling. Remove from heat and pour into dish over the asparagus. Sprinkle a generous amount of cheese over the top and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
