1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups chopped apples
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup nuts
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar and egg.
Add apples. Blend in dry ingredients.
Spread 3/4 to 1 inch thick in greased 9" x 13" pan.
Bake 35-40 minutes at 350º
Frost with: 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup soft butter, 1 tablespoon milk.
Beat until fluffy
