Ingredients:
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring

Icing:
1 (2 lb.) bag powdered sugar
1 1/4 c. shortening or butter
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Cut in the butter and shortening as for pie crust. Set aside.

In another bowl, place 2 eggs and beat well, add 1 1/2 c. sugar gradually, using electric mixer, and beat until light. Add vanilla and almond flavorings.

Combine the two mixtures. Chill. Roll out and use cookie cutters. Bake at 375º until done. Watch carefully so they don't brown around the edges.

Frost with following icing:
Use electric mixer as frosting will be stiff. Add a little more milk if needed. These freeze well. Store in covered container with wax paper between layers. Don't layer until frosting is set. This makes lots of cookies, so you can half the recipe if desired.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I usually put frosting in a decorating bag to frost, easier than with a knife.
