2 c flour
4 lg T Crisco, chilled
4 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add the Crisco and work it into the flour with your fingers.

Add enough milk to make a moist dough.

Knead the dough 2 or 3 times on a floured board.
Pat out to 1/2 inch thick.

Cut with 2 inch cookie cutter.

Cook at 400 º 10 to 12 minutes

This recipe came from Grandma Church's maid. We use them for strawberry shortcake.
This recipe has been updated by adding the baking soda and Crisco. They are lighter and more delicious.
