2 c. chopped mixed vegetables (potatoes, carrots, celery, onions)
1 c. chopped chicken
Water
Salt and chicken flavoring to taste
Dumplings:
1 1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. butter, softened
1 t. salt
2 t. baking powder
2 t. sugar
Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cook vegetables until soft. Place chicken in saucepan and cover with water; add salt and chicken flavoring. Heat to boiling and cook until chicken is done. Add vegetables and bring back to a boil before adding dumpling dough.
Dumplings: Combine flour, butter, salt, baking powder and sugar. Add enough milk to make a stiff dough. Drop by spoonfuls in boiling chicken mixture. Cover and reduce heat for 20 minutes without lifting lid.

I like to add other spices like pepper, marjoram, celery seed, whatever sounds good.
