1 1/2 lb. white fish fillet (cod)
2 quarts water
salt and pepper to taste
15 shakes dry thyme
1 bay leaf
2 shakes black peppercorns
4 shakes ground cloves
2 medium onions, dice small
2 stalks celery, dice small
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 small green pepper, dice small
2 tbsp. margarine
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
28 oz. can whole tomatoes, chop
1 can beef consommé
1/2 cup ketchup
6 sprigs parsley
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. lemon juice
4 large potatoes, peel, dice small
3 carrots, dice small
few shakes Tabasco or Rum & Sherry Peppers Sauce

In large pot, simmer fish in water with salt, pepper, thyme, bay leaf, peppercorns, cloves for about 30 minutes.

In large saute pan, heat oil and margarine and saute onions, celery, garlic, green pepper until soft. Add tomatoes, beef consommé and simmer 30 minutes. Add to fish mixture. Add ketchup, parsley sprigs, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, potatoes, carrots and Tabasco. Simmer covered 3 1/2 hours.
