1 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. salt
1 egg yolk (add enough milk to make 2/3 c.)
Apples, peeled, cored & sliced
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg white

Frosting:
1 Tbsp. water
1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, cut shortening into flour and salt. Add milk and egg yolk; blend with fork. Roll 1/2 of dough to fill a 10 1/2 x 15 1/2-inch cookie sheet. Place apples over crust. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll other half of dough and place on top. Pinch edges. Beat egg white stiff and brush over crust. Bake for 60 minutes. While warm, spread with frosting.

Frosting: Combine all ingredients, stirring until well blended.
