Directions:Preheat oven to 400º.
Crust: Mix butter, flour and nuts and spread in 8 x 11 glass baking dish. Bake 20-25 minutes until just slightly golden brown on the edges...do not overcook. Let cool.
2nd Layer: Soften cream cheese, and beat together with powdered sugar and thawed Cool Whip. Spread on the cooled crust.
3rd Layer: Mix pudding with milk and spread on second layer.
4th Layer: Top with Cool Whip and sprinkle with nuts.
The third layer is where you can get creative with this recipe. Just use your imagination and don't be afraid to experiment.
Assemble first three layers and refrigerate for several hours before serving. This is great to take to a covered dish meal or a family gathering and I usually double it and use the largest Pyrex baking dish. I spread the last Cool Whip layer when I'm ready to serve. I usually omit the nuts since so many in my family will not eat them. |

Personal
Notes: Serve this and I promise you will not have to take any home. If there is any left, and that is rare, my family divides and takes the leftovers home with them. So simple and so easy, yet so impressive. It's a staple at all our family gatherings and I had a mutiny when I tried to vary my menu a few years back.
