1-1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. cornstarch
2-1 oz. squares Hershey's unsweetened chocolate
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. whole milk
4 egg yolks, beaten in large glass bowl
1 tbsp. plus 1 ts. vanilla.

Bake a 9 in. pie shell. Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in 1-1/2 quart saucepan. Stir in milk gradually, then add chocolate (cut up). Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 min. Stir at least half the hot mixture gradually into egg yolks. Blend into hot mixture in saucepan. Boil and stir 1 min. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour into pie shell; press plastic wrap onto filling after cooling at room temperature for 30 min. Refrigerate at least 2 hours but no longer than 48 hours. Remove plastic wrap; top pie with whipped cream.
