11/2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup water
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1 unbaked pie shell
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

Melt chocolate in water, add 2/3 cup sugar. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in butter and 11/2 tsp. vanilla. Set aside.

Mix flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt. Add margarine, milk, and 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Add egg. Beat 2 minutes. Pour batter in pie shell. Stir chocolate mixture and carefully spread over batter. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350º for 55-60 minutes.
