• 1 cup butter or margarine – softened
• ¼ cup lard or shortening – softened
• 2 ½ cups sugar
• 6 eggs - slightly beaten
• 4 ½ cups flour
• 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
• 1 cup milk
• ½ teaspoon vanilla
• 4 tablespoons decorating candy

Heat waffle iron to hottest temp. Beat margarine and lard. Add sugar and beat. Add eggs, beating well. Add remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls on to waffle iron, leaving spaces between the cookies. Cook approximately 2 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies. These may be frozen.
