Directions:Melt butter in skillet. Add onion and herbs. Saute and very lightly brown onions, stirring frequently over low to medium heat. While onions cooking, moisten bread with warm water. Squeeze water out of bread. Stir bread clumps into the herbs and onion. Add more butter, or some oil this time, to get herb flavor into the chunks of bread. Stir and heat through. Put hamburger meat in bowl. Add herb mix and eggs. Mix somewhat, then sprinkle flour into meat and continue mixing. Do not over mix. Try to keep herb mixed bread as chunks in the meat. Form into thick patties. Gently press patties in bread crumbs on edges and both sides. Fry on medium heat. You want all inside meat cooked and bread crumbs crisp and browned to desired shade and flavor. Onions and bread chunks will be visible on outside of patties. The onion pieces will also brown and crisp some. Put on absorbent paper to soak up excess butter/oil. Absolutely Delicious. |
