Directions:
Mix flour, shortening, 1 T. sugar and salt as for pie crust. Mix egg yolk and enough milk to make 2/3 cup of liquid. Add to flour mixture and blend until liquid is absorbed. Divide dough in half. Roll out one half of dough and line a jelly roll pan (11 x 14 inch) with crust bring up dough on the sides. Combine apples, sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon. Crush cornflakes and sprinkle on bottom of crust, add apples evenly. Roll out other half of dough and place on top. Trim excess dough, crimp edges. Cut slits in top crust. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour or until nice and brown. Mix powdered sugar with enough hot water for a nice drizzling consistency. Drizzle over hot pastry.
