1 c. butter
1 large egg
2 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Icing:
4 oz. cream cheese
¼ c. margarine
1/4 c. hot water
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix baking powder and flour; add one cup at a time, mixing after each addition. The dough will be very stiff; blend last flour in by hand (if dough becomes too stiff, add water, a tsp. at a time). Do not chill dough. Divide into 2 portions. On floured surface, roll each portion into 12 inch circle and 1/3 inch thick. Dip cutters in flour. Bake cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet on top rack for 6-7 minutes. Makes 20-24 average sized cookies.
Icing directions: Cream together cream cheese and margarine. Add hot water to mixture. Add powdered sugar to taste.

Dough can be tinted with Wilton icing color. Knead small amounts until desired color. For chocolate, blend in 3 oz. melted, unsweetened chocolate.
