Ingredients:  
1 quart water
1 8oz can of tomato sauce (like Delmonte or Hunts)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp dry basil or 1/4 cup freshly chopped basil
1 19 oz can of cannellini beans

Directions:
Directions:
Bring all ingredients except beans to a boil and then reduce to a simmer for 45 minutes
Add beans and simmer for at least 30 more minutes

In a separate pot, boil a small pasta such as ditilini or elbows. Combine with bean mixture only when you are ready to eat.

* recipe can be doubled or tripled easily
** the bean mixture freezes well without pasta
*** if bean mixture is too thin, try adding a cup or two of the starchy cooking liquid from pasta and simmer until desired thickness is obtained
