Stuffing Bread (or toasted stale bread)
Box Stovetop Turkey Stuffing Mix
Onions, finely chopped
Celery, finely chopped
Butter
1 - 2 eggs
Poultry Seasoning
Salt & Pepper
Applesauce
Chicken or Turkey Broth

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions and celery in lots of butter. Add broth, and bring just to a boil. In big bowl add stuffing bread and stove top stuff. Pour onions and celery mix. over top, add egg, and seasonings. Mix well. Add some applesauce but not too much. This will keep the stuffing nice and moist. Bake in a greased pan or stuff in the bird.

While living with Mom I found out from Aunt Donna that My Great Grandmother "Mama" liked to cover her stuffing with a moist towel and refrigerate overnight before stuffing this into the turkey. Makes for a good old fashioned "sticky stuffing". That is how I remember it as a kid. Of course when we were little there was no such thing as Stove top, so Mom would use leftover bread. Over the years, things change and we cheat a little with our old fashioned recipes
