1 1/2 lb. hamburger
1 med. chopped onion
1 28 oz. can tomatoes
water
3 cubes of stock mix
1 tin tomato soup
1 bay leaf
3 sticks chopped celery
1/2 tsp. thyme
parsley
salt and pepper to taste
6 tbsp. barley
4 chopped carrots

Saute hamburger and onion. Add rest of ingredients filling soup pot with water, and simmer about 3 hours stirring and tasting at times. Add any herbs and spices to taste.
