1/2 cup butter, softened helps
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups old fashioned oats
1 bag chocolate chips
1 1/2 cup walnut halves (not chopped up)

Directions:

preheat oven to 350.
Mix together the wet ingredients. Add the flour baking soda and salt next. Mix well.
Last mix in the oats, by hand is best. Then by hand mix in the bag of chocolate chips and the walnuts. The more nuts the better, and big chunky ones. Drop on cookie sheet and cook until quite brown, 10 minutes or so, these are good when they are crispy.
