1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts.
Filling:
1 10 oz. pkg. frozen strawberries in syrup, thawed
3 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1 T. lemon juice
Pinch of salt
1 c. heavy cream, whipped or a tub of Cool Whip

Combine the crust ingredients and mix well. Crumble evenly on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees until golden brown. Stir to re-crumble. Reserve 1/2 c. crumbs for topping. Press remaining crumbs into bottom of 9 x 13 pan, cool.
Combine all but whipped cream or cool whip in a large mixing bowl. Beat at very high speed until very stiff peaks form, about 10 to 15 minutes. Fold in whipped cream or cool whip. Spoon evenly over crust and top with reserved crumbs. Freeze at least 6 hours or over night. Garnish with whole strawberries, mint leaves or chocolate curls. SERVE FROZEN. This melts very fast.
