1 C. Butter or Margarine
1 C. Sugar
1/2 C. Brown Sugar
1C. Buttermilk
2 eggs
2 C. Flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
2 C. heaping chopped granny smith apples (I add more)

Topping:
1/2 C. Sugar
1T Cinnamon
3/4 C. pecans chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugars add eggs and milk, gradually add the dry ingredients. Mix in the chopped apples. Spread mixture in a 9x13 inch pan and spread the topping all over the batter.

Bake in a 350º oven for 30-40 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.

I watched the president of the YMCA shove this cake in his mouth..he just loved it. It is a moist cake with great flavor of the chunks of apple. The topping adds a crunch with the nuts and cinnamon. I have given this recipe to lots of people after they had one bite.

Bake it on a Sunday morning and eat it while reading the Sunday paper!
