Pop about 2 poppers of corn, (shake out the old maids!)
1 jar of Planter's peanuts (or another bag of peanuts, not raw)

Blend in saucepan
1 square butter or margarine
1 cup light corn syrup
2 cups of brown sugar

Bring to a boil on medium heat, stirring constantly. Add 1 can Borden's sweetened condensed milk. Add 1 tsp vanilla.

Simmer to softball. (test in cold water) It doesn't take very long to cook to softball.

Pour over the popcorn and peanuts. Put waxed paper on 2 cookie sheets and spread out the popcorn. You'll have to experiment with your popcorn popper to get the right amount of popcorn.

Grandma Dot says she had to use 2 cookie sheets to share with Alan and with Jan. This is a favorite at Christmas. The recipe came from Aunt Betty Emery.
