Sift together:
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt

Cream together:
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 beaten egg
1/4 cup molasses
Beat well.

Directions:
Directions:
Blend in dry ingredients. Add 1/2 cup coconut and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.

Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet (try, but maybe safer to use PAM!)
Bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes. Let cool slightly on pan before removing.
