3/4 c shortening
1 c sugar
4 T molasses
1 egg
2 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
Additional sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses seasonings, and egg. Beat well till smooth. Roll into small balls. Roll in additional sugar. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake 15-18 minutes.
