1 cup Shortening....half butter
1 cup Sugar
1 Egg, unbeaten
2 cups Flour
1/2 tsp. Soda
1/2 tsp. Cream of tartar
pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:

Mix all ingredients and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º
