2 1/2 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 c. Karo light corn syrup
1 lg. egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 pkg. baker's semi-sweet chocolate, 8 oz. in large chunks

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Slowly beat in corn syrup, then egg and vanilla. Beat in flour mixture until blended. Stir in pecans and half the chocolate chunks. Spread evenly in greased pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate on top. Bake in 350º oven for 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on rack. Cut into squares.
