1 lb fresh bacon(ground)
1 pt boiling water(poured over bacon)
6 C flour
4 C brown sugar
1 lb raisins
1 lb currants
1 package citron
1 package lemon peel
1 package orange
1/2 lb. cherries-pineapple(candied)
1/2 lb. dates
1/2 lb. figs
1 glass strawberry preserves
2 C. nut meats chopped
Spices(Cinnamon, nutmeg)
1 tbsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 250º. Add all ingredients. 1/2 dozen foil pans greased, paper lined. Bake for 2 1/2 hours or test done.
Place pan with 1" water on rack below cakes.
