1/2 c butter
1/2 c shortening
2 c sugar
2 eggs
5 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 c buttermilk
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, shortening, sugar very well. Add eggs, beat again. Stir all dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk til well mixed.
You can roll into small balls, dip in sugar and place on greased cookie sheet or Chill dough. Roll out 1/4" , cut into rounds and bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.

These are puffy, so don't do well with shaped cutters.
Frost and leave 2 out for Santa Claus.
