2 cups dark karo syrup
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp vinegar
1/4 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Bring to boil first 4 items to hard ball stage or about 260º. Then add soda and vanilla. Pour into buttered pan. Cool until you can handle. Then pull until snow white and porous. Use butter or shortening on hands so candy will not stick to them. Twist into a rope. Cut with scissors. May add a few drops of food coloring.

This is a fun family thing to do at Christmas. The kids get a big kick out of pulling the Taffey.
