2 cups macaroni
1 teaspoon butter or margarine
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cans (8oz) tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.

cook 2 cups macaroni according to directions on box , drain add 1 teaspoon butter or margarine to macaroni set aside, In skillet brown 1 pound ground beef add green pepper & onion cook just until tender stirring often . Drain excess grease. add other ingredients . Simmer uncovered 5 to 10 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat. Gently stir reserved macaroni. Heat slowly, stirring often for 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Serve hot.

We like this with garlic bread. If you want to you can use 1 (7.25 oz) pkg. of macaroni & cheese dinner. With fork, gently stir in contents of cheese packet & reserved macaroni. then heat slowly until thoroughly heated. I have done it both ways
