2 1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
6 Tlbsp butter cut into pieces
2/3 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
berries & zest

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients, cut in butter to make coarse meal. Combine milk, eggs, and vanilla. Add to flour and stir to combine. Turn out onto floured surface and knead. form 8" round and cut into 8 pieces. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes.

Be careful not to overwork the dough or they will be tough.
Optional flavors to add:
blueberries, raspberries, chocolate or white chips, raisins- whatever you can think of
