1 1/3 cup chopped pitted dates
1 cup boiling water
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
3/4 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Add the chopped dates to the boiling water and cool. Mix together dry ingredients and set aside. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla then dry ingredients. Blend in dates and nuts. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350º for 1 hour.
