"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 lg onion diced
3 cans of beans drained
1 can corn
1 can tomato sauce 15 oz
1 can diced tomatoes 15 oz
1 can diced green chills 4.5 oz
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 pkg ranch dressing mix
1 1/2 C water

Directions:
Directions:
Cook onions in a little oil in saute pan until clear and add ground beef. When done drain and add to crock pot. Open all cans and dump into crock pot and mix. Cook on low for at least 2 hours or high for an hour. The longer it cooks the better it tastes. I usually cook on low for about 4 hours.

Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, and crushed tortilla chips.

This makes a bunch, but the extras freeze well.

Personal Notes:
I always want an electric can opener when I make this! It's a great alternative to traditional chili, and is wonderful on a cold winter day.
