6 rouladen
1 tsp prepared mustard per rouladen
2 large onions, sliced
6 slices dill pickle
salt & pepper to taste
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 cup water or beef broth
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water

Directions:
Directions:
Lay meat pieces flat. Spread each with mustard. Divide onion slices among meat slices. Lay onion on meat along with a slice of bacon and a slice of dill pickle. Season with salt and pepper. Carefully roll up each piece of meat with filling inside. Fasten with a toothpick or tie with string. Brown rolls in oil. Place in a 2 quart ovenproof casserole. Add water to drippings, pour over the rolls and cover. Bake 300ºF for 2 hours or until meat is tender. Remove rouladen from casserole. Dissolve cornstarch in water. Stir into pan juices until thickened. Serve hot.
This dish may be doubled and cooked in a crock pot. When using minute steaks, cut back on cooking time, by one hour.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Pounded flank, round or sirlion steak may be used.
Pound to 3x4" rectangles. Minute steaks work well when in a hurry.
