3 1/8 cups brown sugar
1 1/4 cups butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Bring to boil in heavy skillet the first 4 ingredients. Boil hard for about 15 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly. Use candy thermometer and get to 250º or it reaches soft ball stage.
Remove from heat and stir in 1 tsp vanilla. Pour into well buttered 9" X 13" pan. Let cool, cut into pieces. Wrap each in waxed paper.

I test the candy at about 12 minutes by dropping some into ice water. Then I continue to test until it holds it to the caramel consistency.
