2 tbsp. oil
1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 796ml diced can tomatoes
1 cup tomato sause
1 can sliced mushrooms, drained (opt)
2 398ml can kidney beans
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. hot chili or pepper sause
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. oregano

Heat oil in large heavy pan; saute beef, onion and garlic until beef is no longer pink. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 3 hours, stirring occcasionally. Or put in crock pot for 8-10 hours on low. Serve hot with Corn bread or biscuits.
