10 large yellow onions,
8 Tbsp. butter,
2 Tbsp flour,
1 cup milk,
1 cup heavy cream,
2 Tbsp grated cheddar cheese,
1 cup soft bread cubes.

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and slice onions 1/8th inch thick. Saute in 6 Tbsp butter. Cover, simmer (low heat) until clear. (Don't let them brown).
Put in baking dish.
Make cream sauce. Melt 2 Tbsp butter--add 2 Tbsp flour. 1 cup milk, 1 cup heavy cream and 2 Tbsp grated cheese.
Pour cream sauce over onions and mix gently. Sprinkle more grated cheese and soft bread cubes on the top. Bake at 350 degrees until hot and brown on top. If cooking ahead, leave out bread cubes.
