1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tarter
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugars, shortening, vanilla and egg. Add rest of ingredients. Roll out and cut into shapes.

Bake at 350º for about 8 minutes. Can be iced when cool.

Makes 4 doz. cookies.
