Bill's Devil's Delight Chili Recipe

5 slices bacon, crumbled
8 oz. hot Italian sausage links, sliced
2 medium onions
1 green pepper
1 ½ lb. beef chuck steak, diced
1 clove garlic
2 dried red chili peppers, seeded and crumbled
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1 – 1 ½ tbsp chili powder
½ tsp dried oregano
1 – 12 oz. can tomato paste
2 ½ c. water
1 – 16 oz. can pinto beans, drained
1 – 16 oz. can garbanzo beans, drained

Directions:
In large saucepan, cook bacon till crisp; drain and crumble. Put in large Dutch oven.

Brown sliced sausage in same saucepan; drain and reserve 2 tbsp. drippings in saucepan. Place cooked sausage in Dutch oven.

Add diced onions and green pepper, with cubed beef and garlic in saucepan and cook until browned. Add to Dutch oven.

To Dutch oven, add red chili peppers, jalapeno peppers, chili powder, oregano and ½ tsp. salt. Stir in tomato paste and 2 ½ c. water.

Put in 350 degree oven until it boils, then turn it down and let simmer covered for 1 ½ hours. Stir occasionally.

Add beans 30 – 45 minutes before the end.

Bill takes a lot of liberties with this one. He adds more of the hot stuff as he pleases, making it nearly impossible for the rest of us to eat.
