1/2 cup shortening
1 1/3 cup sugar
Blend, then add:
2 eggs
2 bananas (mashed)
Then alternate:
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup sour milk mixed with 1 tsp. baking soda and tbsp. vinegar

Optional: 1/2 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Bake 350º for 1 hr for loaf or 40 minutes 9 x 13 cake pan.

Topping: Boil 2 minutes 1/2 cup brown sugar,
2 tbsp. water, 1 tbsp. butter.
Reserve 3 Tbsps.

Spread on cake, sprinkle with 1/4 brown sugar. Take remaining topping, reboil and stripe top of cake.
