2 tbsp butter
1 cup finely chopped onion
3 cups chopped fresh mushrooms
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 tsp season salt
1/2 tsp dill weed
cayenne pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups grated Monterey Jack with Jalapeno cheese
1/2 cup mayo
sliced fresh mushrooms for garnish
chopped green onions for garnish

Directions:

Melt butter in large frying pan on medium. Add onion and chopped mushrooms. Cook for 10 minutes until liquid is evaporated and mushrooms are golden. Remove from heat. Add next 4 ingredients. Stir until cream cheese is melted. Add grated cheese and mayo. Mix well. Spread in ungreased 9" pie plate or shallow casserole. (Can be refrigerated at this point) Bake in 350º oven for about 30 minutes until heated through. Sprinkle with sliced mushrooms and green onions. Serve with crackers of your choice.
