2 c. corn meal
1 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
1 t. baking powder
1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sweet milk or sour milk or butter milk

Mix together and bake at 350º about 25 - 30 minutes

This recipe is from our Grandmother Elsie Shepherd Eastman. Wife of Mahlon Eastman and mother to eleven children and 47 grandchildren. I would hate to guess how many times she made this recipe, I'm sure it was in the thousands.
