1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. cocoa powder
1/2 c. milk
4 tbsp. melted butter
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Topping:
1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa powder
4 tbsp. melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together dry ingredients; add milk and melted butter, mixing well. (If you add nuts, stir into dry ingredients) Spread the batter evenly in an 8" square pan. Mix together the topping sugar and cocoa, then sprinkle over batter. Drizzle melted butter over this, then gently pour 1 1/2 c. boiling water over everything--do not mix! Bake at 375º for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350º and bake for 30 minutes. Serve hot or cold with ice cream or whipped cream.
